Palace of la “Aljafería”

It is one of the most important monuments of the Hispanic-Muslim architecture of the XI century. It is one of the most important monuments of the architecture Hispanic - Muslim of the 11th century. Though the building has suffered successive reforms, we can still walk among the court of Santa Isabel , through the Golden lounge and the “Oratorio”.


El Puente de Piedra- The stone bridge

It is the oldest bridge on the river Ebro.Gothic style from the XVc, it has been restaured many times due to the rises of the river.From the last remodelings stands out 4 bronze lions of the sculptor Francisco Rallo.

Roman public baths museum

In 1982-1983, during the works of regularization of the tracing of the C/San Juan and San Pedro, there were found the remains of a great swimming pool belonging to a few Roman thermal baths of public character. The set was extended in 1990 by the discovery of a few lavatories of a previous phase. The public thermal baths were located in Zaragoza’s center, in the existing space between the Forum and the Theatre. Of the various rooms with the following facilities - wardrobes, warm, moderate(tepid) and cold rooms, gymnasium, etc … - only remain a few lavatories with capacity for more than 20 persons (still used at the end of the 1st century B.C.) that were knocked down to construct on them, in the middle of the 1st century A.D., a great outdoor swimming pool .


The Central Market

The Central Market is in the same place than the city market since the 13th century. The building of the Central Market, inaugurated in 1903, was not conceived as an isolated construction, but forming part of an urban development plan destined to transform the environment of the square.But But it was only done partially. Félix Navarro projects a construction of two floors (basement and market), being the superior floor basílical of three rooms, being the central one widest and tallest than the other two.

In 1986 the building is restored and the sales points are renewed. Thanks to this , the market continues supporting the same activity for the one that was created at the beginning of century and preserves the animation, the color …
