Menorca Natural Parks
On the 7th of October 1993, the island of Menorca was declared a Biosphere Reserve by the International Committee of UNESCO, because of its environmental diversity and landscapes, with natural spaces of special relevance, such as the Natural Park of s'Albufera des Grau, the only Natural Park in Menorca, placed in the mouth of several rivers, where the formation of some marshes and lagoons begin. These areas of permanent immersion are of significant ecological and human importance for agriculture, that's why it has been necessary to take protection steps.
