The city's textile industry. Crafts from the eighteenth century
to the present day. Machinery from the ancient and medieval traditions

Arqueological Museum of Cacabelos
Situated in Cacabelos, the museum is housed in the Casa de la
Cultura. It contains pieces from the Pre-Roman and Roman era (excavated
from archaelogical sites including Castro Ventosa and La Edrada),the
Middle Ages, Modern age and nineteenth century.
Ethnographic section which includes domestic tools made of wood,
copper, iron and bronze.

Wild Fauna Worldwide´s Museum
Presentation of wild fauna worldwide, by means of photographs,
documents etc.
1000 pieces may be encountered in the Museum.
The stuffed animals belong to Doctor Eduardo Romero, an expert
hunter, who has travelled through most countries.
The collection includes:
American and European brown bears; bisons, zebras, elephants,
hippopotami, does, bucks...
The museum building is rectangular in shape and has a courtyard
in the centre. It was designed by the architect Begoña
Gonzalo Orden.
The total surface area covers 3200m. Plans are being made to set
up a fence which would allow animals which may be included in
the museum in the future, to live in relative freedom.

Museum of el Bierzo
Carvings and other artworks from the 4th millennium b.c. Until
today. Sharpened brass axes from the 4th millennium b.c. Spear

Railway Museum
Old station of the MSP (Minero Siderúrgica de Ponferrada),
the most important private mining company in Spain. The museum
narrates the history of the company and of the Ponferrada Villablino
line (passenger service up until 1980. It was the last company
to have steam trains, including the Baldwin, series 1 10, the
Krauss Engerth series 11 9 and 31 and the Tubize series 41 and
42. They also used broad-gauge trains numbered 51 to 55 consecutively,
in Ponferrada and San Miguel de las Dueñas)
Different machinery since 1903, the oldest (number 22) is a common
model in every engineering workshop.

Roman Museums of Astorga, Ergastula
