CIUTADELLA CATHEDRAL
Built by orders of King Alfonso III of Aragón, conqueror
of the Island (1287), on an ancient Moorish mosque, the Cathedral
is in the Catalan Gothic style of the 14th century, although it
still retains the old minaret of the earlier mosque.

CIUTADELLA TOWN HALL
The Town Hall is built over the ancient Moorish citadel and remains
of it can still be seen today.

EN QUART TOWER
One of the most characteristic defences of the Island, it was
used to warn the inhabitants of the impending arrival of invading
Moors.

SA FONT BASTION
Part of the walls that were built following the invasion by Mustafa
Piali in the 16th century. The Municipal Museum is housed in one
of the five bastions on these old walls.

SANT NICOLAU CASTLE
It contains an interesting exhibition on Minorca as a Biosphere
Reserve.

SANTA ÁGUEDA CASTLE
Remains of a castle of Roman origin but with Moorish towers. It
was here that the Moors surrendered the Island to King Alfonso
III of Aragón in 1287.
