Pollença Festivities
Are a constant fact in Pollença, since
Sant Antoni in January passing through Easter Processions and
culminates in August with the Patron Saint, where the simulacrum
of “Moros I Cristianos” (Moors and Christians), the
hero Joan Más and the brave people from Pollença
confront the corsair troops, remembering tah dawn of the 31st
May 1550.
A part from the celebrations the typical dances from centuries
ago stand out, like “els Cavallets” (the small horses)
in Sant Sebastiá, the procession of “L´Estandart”,
el “Ball de les Águiles” (Eagle Dance) and
of course “Els Cossiers” on the 2nd of August.
