Pollença information
Located in the North of Mallorca´s island, is one of the most attractive and with more personality municipalities of the island. It has an area of 151.7 km2 and a population of 15,000 inhabitants.
Apart from the town with the same name, it includes the areas of Port de Pollença and Cala Sant Vicenç, as well as the peninsula of Formentor. Pollença offers a great range of possibilities: to practise all kinds of nautical sports, beaches and inlets of transparent waters, landscapes that offer the possibility of doing interesting excursions on foot (Cala Bóquer, Cala San Vicenç,…) as well as an important and wide range of cultural opportunities, from the prestigious Classical Music Festival of Pollença (member of the European Association of Festivals) to the popular festivities all year round. Pollença is without any doubt one of the most attractive and beautiful areas of the island. Its simulating configuration has always been the subject and motivation of painters from all over the world who have represented it in their canvases. The most representative image of this town is “El Calvari”, a mountain with 365 steps end at to a little church at the top with a view of all the municipality, where the procession of the “Davallament” in Easter takes place. The Roman Bridge, the “Puig de Maria”, the Parish Church, the main Square, Saint Domingo’s Cloister, The Museum of Pollença as well as other places of cultural interest can be visited through the streets that preserve the traditional architectural style of the town.
